Mubasher: Virtual currency bitcoin lost around $2,000 in hours during Wednesday’s trade, marking its biggest drop since launching the digital currency futures.
Cryptocurrency investors headed to other digital currencies such 'Ethereum' and 'Bitcoin cash', which touched record highs in Wednesday’s session.
The digital currency dropped to $16,434 from $18,580 in six hours.
By 11:47 am GMT, bitcoin shrunk its losses by 4.5% to $17,750.
